Regional precinct masterplanning

UrbanFold prepared the Castlemaine Railway Precinct Masterplan to guide the future of this historic goldrush-era precinct. Centred around a functioning railway station and surrounded by community and tourism destinations the process required a careful balance between preserving heritage features and promoting urban activation. The Plan enhances connectivity public realm quality and amenity for locals and visitors proposing interventions through landscapes that also acknowledge the original custodians of the land.

Community engagement and consultation with Council were central to the Plan’s development. Streets trails and public spaces are designed to support movement activation and tourism.

Endorsed by the community and Council the Castlemaine Railway Precinct Masterplan demonstrates how regional towns can combine heritage preservation with strategic urban design to create thriving resilient and inclusive precincts.
