A new community with rural character

UrbanFold delivered a place-based Precinct Structure Plan for a 130-hectare site on the edge of Riddells Creek in the Macedon Ranges foothills. The site’s natural beauty rural character and water features provide the basis for creating a distinct new community. The Plan responds to anticipated urban growth while maintaining the area’s scenic and rural qualities.

Our approach balances housing diversity and affordability with careful preservation of landscape features and environmental assets. Street layouts open spaces and community facilities are integrated to encourage social interaction and promote a connected walkable neighbourhood. The plan ensures that new development complements the surrounding township and landscape providing an appropriate interface between rural and urban contexts.

By prioritising place-based design the Riddells Creek PSP offers a framework for a sustainable attractive and liveable community.
