Design-led public housing renewal

UrbanFold was influential in three design-led masterplanning projects for major Homes Victoria projects across Melbourne Bendigo and Ballarat.

The inner-Melbourne project involves one of the city’s most significant public housing precincts where we created a place-based framework for housing growth and renewal. Streets open spaces and communal facilities are carefully integrated to catalyse broader neighbourhood regeneration. Managing large consultant teams we have delivered practical high-quality urban design solutions. Our work draws on insights from multiple projects addressing challenges such as public-private interface connectivity and public realm integration.

These masterplans demonstrate how sensitive design-led approaches can transform public housing precincts into connected sustainable and vibrant communities providing long-term social economic and environmental benefits.
